Kshetra mahima:
The Goddess “Mahatripurasundari”
is called Lalita as she is lovely, elegant, charming and playful. We, yet to understand
the source of the energy that moves us, are but transient figures in her eternal
play. Our sorrow and suffering is a delusion, a misconception born out of
ignorance and the ego. Because we attempt to control or possess joy from the
standpoint of the separate self, we divide ourselves from true joy which is universal.
The Goddess, as the image of joy, shows us the path to come out of our sufferings,
which is not to deny ourselves happiness but to discover the true happiness
that we seek, which is in being one with all. Lalita awakens the receptive
soul to the bliss that underlies all things in the universe.
SRIMADH LALITA MAHATRIPURASUNDARI
is the Universal Spiritual Energy constantly active in creation, sustenance and
dissolution of universe. From her, arise all the commands which govern the universe,
including the command which allows us to unfold spiritually or to give spiritual
teachings in the world. We must seek her command in order to do anything
significant in life. Yet her command is not based on authority but love.
To gain her approval we merely need be open to her love. What she allows us
to do is to love her and to love everything. To discover her commands,
however, we must be willing to surrender our own egoistic desires and attempt to
control things. She is also the single benevolent force lifting devotees from samsara
(cycle of births and deaths). She is the omniscient, omnipotent, benevolent and
adorable Mother. The Universal Mother is indeed a truth beyond the distinctions
of sex and even beyond personality. Whatsoever we approach Her, so does She accept
us. SRIMADH LALITA MAHATRIPURASUNDARI (Shakti) and Mahadev Tripureshwarar (Shiva)
are complement of each other. Together they are the Cosmic Whole and what transcends
it. They are factually one and inseparable.
Śrī Vidyā is the name
of a
Hindu religious system devoted
to the goddess
Lalitā Maha Tripurasundarī.
It is the realization of the soul through synthesis and reconciliation. Devi is
the imminent soul of all souls. She is the infinite and eternal supreme Bliss. She
induces the intuitive knowledge of God, which is herself.
Sri Vidya shows the practical
method to experience the truths of
Vedanta as Brahma Vidya. The bindu in the centre of Sriyantra, is the point from
which expansion occurs and into which the universe contracts again. Sri Vidya shows
the path for transcendence with in this world.
There is no discrimination
of caste, creed or gender in Lalita worship. It proclaims that one who has not refrained
from evil acts and who has no peace of mind and self control can not realize God
by any means. Lalita worship consists of a great potential philosophical lore.
The prayers are conducted by invoking Sri Lalita over the Sri Chakra which is the diagrammatic representation
of the Universe, Mantra, Yantra and Tantra are the three aspects of Sri Vidya. Yantra
is the form of symbolic representation of Mantra. Tantra consists of mind concentration;
rituals and kundalini yoga.
A thousand names for
this form of
Devī are recited in the
Lalitā Sahasranāma,
which includes Śrī Vidyā concepts. In
Śrī Vidyā the goddess is supreme, transcending the cosmos which is a manifestation
of her. She is a form of Durga or Paravati, consort of Shiva, as well as several
names from the
Lalitā Sahasranāma
which call her the beloved of Shiva.
SriYantra is the logical and diagrammatic representation
of Shiva-Shakti and its cosmic manifestations. The central dot (Bindu) is the Shiva-Shakti
Swarupam of SRIMADH LALITA MAHATRIPURASUNDARI. SriYantra in its three dimensional
form is worshipped as SriMeru. Worship of SRIMADH LALITA MAHATRIPURASUNDARI - DIVINE
MOTHER, who is called by other names and forms such as Adhi ParaShakti, Sri Raja
Rajeswari, Sri Kamakhya, Sri Kamakshi, Sri Kameswari etc., is the highest form of
worship of the ultimate divine energy. This puja takes the Worshipper away from
Idol worship to ultimate and real ideal worship - from the gross form to the subtlest
abstract worship. No samskaras or complexities are part of this worship of the Divine
Mother in its true ENERGY form.
The incarnation of God to this world is in different
forms for different reasons & different purposes, mainly to protect the dharma
& asthikas. In this way the lord shiva gave darshanam in the form of lingam
to bhakta shiromani Sri Ramachandran in his land situated in Sathur Village, located about 6 kms from
Arcot of Vellore District in Tamilnadu
while plouging his land & then onwards that land become a pious, holy and a great grandeur place. For reaching
Sathur, one has to take left turn off
Arcot- Arani Road
at 3 km point.
Locals say that it was one of the
seven Shiva-lingams worshipped by Sapta-Rishis (seven saints) in and around
Satheu Village
. This Lingam, found in our lands and named as Lord
Tripureshwar by us, seems to be of many centuries old. The Lord is said to be originally
installed and worshipped by Saint Dadhichi on whose sacrifice of life, his spinal
cord was made as Vajra Ayuda to fight and conquer all evil forces and demons for
the benefit of mankind. Hence the Lord is also known as Dadhichi Ishwarar. Shiva
Lingam is as
tall as five feet and two inches with octagonal nad sqare bases and
diameter of more than one foot. We, however, could not find avadayar.
Probably the worship place was badly demolished or destroyed during local wars of Nawabs.
Shri Ramachandran had
a vision that the so found shanta & kalyana murthy lord Shiva named as Sri Tripureshwarar
should stay in the land along with Shakthi Devatha & Saparivara. Accordingly
he determined (sankalpa) with the blessings of his Guru to do it. In order to put
that into action as per his sankalpa, he took the advice of his Guru and acharyas
and decided
to install Devi “Srimadh Lalita Mahatripurasundari” over Dasha mahavidya Peetam as main diety with Tripureshwarar
alongwith Lord Ganesha, Lord Shasta, Lord Dattatreya, Lord Venkateshwara, Lord Hanuman,
Lord Karthikeya and Navagrahas, and manifest Herself to bless the devotees, asthikas
and one and all.
SRIMADH LALITA Mahatripurasundari Trust has since
been formed to promote spiritual growth. As a first step, the founder members of
the Trust have already donated the required land and contructed the temple with
the grace of Srimadh Lalita Mahatripurasundari. Idols are ready and Construction
is nearing completion.
The temple is a three storey building of modern construction with fusion of traditional temple culture. The cellar will house the Dyana Mandapa
and
Dasa Mahavidya Library. The ground floor will house SRIMADH LALITA MAHATRIPURASUNDARI
on the Dasa Maha Devis Peetam to start with. The first floor will have Lord Tripureshwarar as the main deity with Navagrahas, Ayyappa, Venkateswara, Dattatreya, Hanuman, Kartikeya
and Ganesa around Him. Gradually, based on response from Devotees, other Dasa-Mahavidya
deities will be enthroned. Lord Tripureshwarar, whom we are planning
to install in the first floor, is the Lingam we found in the fields of the founder
members of the Trust.
The acharyas gurus have
said that the Lord has surfaced for Lokakalyanam & to protect one and all as
long as moon, sun and stars endure (achandrtararka). As per their advice & suggestions
of Guru, elders & wellwishers, Pratishtapana (installation) of all the idols
have to be done. To perform this holy task and connected activities another trust
has been formed under the name of
SLM
Trust.
We have a tremendous task ahead of us to fulfil that mission. To perform this uphill but holy & pious
task with the blessings of Sri Devi, a systamatic & disciplined manner &
in accordance with the procedure prescribed in related Agama shastras & dharma
shastras, this trust has devised this programme spread over a period of 5 days starting
from 25th Aug, 2010. We request one and all to join us, participate &
co operate and make this programme a grand success.
All are invited to participate and involve in the said programme
and have the blessings of Sri Lord Shiva & Sri Matha. The devotees who are interested
in making contribution in the form of cash or kind may do so in the office situated
in the address mentioned below & obtain the valid receipt:

We also have the task of bringing spiritual wealth
of Dasa Mahavidyas and Srividya to new generation of youth. A temple is conceived to be
the most natural peace making ground where people from all walks of life come
together, enhance their mutual trust & faith and smile, through the blessings
of Gods/ Goddesses. The ultimate purpose is to keep humanity positively charged
with moral, cultural, and spiritual zeal. We sincerely solicit
your support for the divine
project which will be cherished for many generations to come. For complete details, please visit our web-site www.srividyatrust.org.
The devotees who are
interested in performing any of the sevas mentioned in the list are requested to
register their names and address in the office, & volunteers who wish to assist
or co operate to do seva also register their names or group names.
