Introduction
Srimadh Lalita Mahatripurasundari Trust has been formed to promote spiritual growth. We have task of bringing spiritual wealth
of Dasa Mahavidyas, especially Sri Vidya, to new generation of youth. A temple is
the most natural peace making ground where people from all walks of life can come
together, enhance their mutual trust & faith and smile, through the blessings
of Gods/ Goddesses. The ultimate purpose is to keep humanity positively charged
with moral, cultural, and spiritual zeal.
The founder members of the Trust unearthed
a very big (about five feet and two inches height) Shiva Lingham in their paddy
fields at Sathur village located about 5 km from Arcot and about 110 km west of
Chennai. To begin with, the founder members of the Trust donated the required land,
where the Lingham was unearthed. Order has been placed for the Idols which are expected
to be ready by Nov, 2006. Bhoomi Pooja has been conducted on 23-12-2005 and
the site construction has begun. We are planning to complete the constructions and
consecrate the temple by May, 2007.
The first floor will house SRIMADH LALITA MAHATRIPURASUNDARI on the pedestal of
Dasa Mahavidya deities.
The ground floor will have Lord Tripureshwarar as the main deity with Navagraha, Ayyappa, Venkateswara, Dattatreya, Hanuman, Kartikeya
and Ganesha around Him.Lord Tripureshwarar, whom we are planning
to install in the ground floor, is the Lingam we found in the fields of the founder
members of the Trust lying over many centuries. Locals say that it was one of the
seven Shiva-lingams worshipped by Sapta-Rishis (seven saints). When we decided
to build the temple as Sri Vidya Upasakars, we dug up the area around the small
portion of stone and we astonished that it was a perfect Shiva-lingam as
tall as five feet and two inches with octagonal base. We could not find avadayar.
Probably the worship place was badly demolished or destroyed.
The basement is designed to be the Meditation Centre.
